        INTERSTATE BRANCH INFORMATION
        (Denovo or by Acquisition of an Office)

        Effective May 31, 1997, an out of state bank may establish a de novo branch in this state, and may also establish a branch in this state through the acquisition of a branch upon compliance with the West Virginia State Banking Code Chapter 31A, Article 8E, Section 4.

        The completed notice form and necessary documentation should be submitted to this office at the time the application is filed with the bank's primary regulator. If submitting an application from a state which does not yet have a statute in effect regarding denovo branching or branching by acquisition of office, please note that we will not accept a notice form until such date as the other state's law is reciprocal with West Virginia law.
