Cease and Desist Orders in Effect

A Cease and Desist Order is a formal means by which the Commissioner can ensure that a Bank stops violating banking laws and regulations and thereby prevent the continuation of unsafe and unsound practices and procedures at the Bank. The Order typically requires a Bank to take specific steps, within a specific timeframe, to improve its operations.
