    EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

    The Division of Banking is a state regulatory agency responsible for the oversight of our state’s financial services industry in order to foster and promote a sound and dynamic financial climate for the citizens and businesses of West Virginia.

    The Division of Banking employs up to thirty-two (32) employees at any given time. Of those thirty-two employees, thirteen (13) are office staff responsible for administration of the agency. Nineteen (19) are field employees responsible for the regulatory function of the agency. Click here to go to the Division of Banking Organizational Chart.

    Although the Division of Banking acts as an independent state government agency, employment policies and procedures are determined by the West Virginia Division of Personnel. The Division of Personnel is the designated authority for determining basic conditions of employment for all classified and non-classified employees in the West Virginia Division of Banking. With the exception of appointed exempt employees, the majority of our employees are in classified service.

    Employment is subject to the review and approval of the West Virginia Division of Personnel.     CURRENT VACANCIES:

    The Division of Banking is accepting applications for the following position:

    FINANCIAL INSTITUTION EXAMINER TRAINEE

    Duties include examination of state chartered depository financial institutions.

    Minimum requirements:
    A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, accounting, finance or related field.
    Nine semester hours of accounting REQUIRED.
    Substitutions may apply for training and/or experience.
    Substantial overnight travel required.
    WRITTEN EXAMINATION REQUIRED.
